Mount Olive Township is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 28,117,[8][9][10]reflecting an increase of 3,924 (+16.2%) from the 24,193 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 2,911 (+13.7%) from the 21,282 counted in the 1990 Census.[19]The Township of Mount Olive was formed by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 22, 1871, from portions of Roxbury Township.[20][21] Netcong was formed from portions of the township on October 23, 1894.[20]Budd Lake (with a 2010 Census population of 8,968[22]) is a census-designated place and unincorporated community located within Mount Olive Township.[23][24][25]Flanders is an unincorporated area within the Township.
